Filtration Products provides innovative solutions for the transmission sector. This
includes solutions for 4-, 5-, and 6-speed transmissions, Dualtronic transmission and
continuously variable transmissions. Filter Plates or Screen Gaskets are used
to keep fluids clean and help ensure smooth and efficient shifting between gears. The
filter plates are contained between the transmission and transmission valve body manifold.
These components provide filtering, sealing, and torque limiting aspects. The all-in-one
assembly helps save manufacturing costs for our customer’s end assembly.
Screen Gasket Specifications
- Mesh Materials: nylon, polyester, stainless steel
- Mesh Sizes: 400 microns down to 100 microns
- Gasket Materials: liquid silicone rubber (LSR) and Vamac rubber
- Torque Limiters: various custom metals
Other transmission related filtering solutions are used on the Flow Control Devices. These highly precision flow solenoids have minimum clearances and miniature channels. Small micron particles can have a detrimental effect on the functioning of the valves. The impact of these small particles (down to 50 microns) could result in the faulty shifting of the transmission. ITW filters are designed to capture these small particles before they can enter the flow control device. The result is a smooth and efficient shifting of your car’s gears.
